RDP on Windows 8.1

    Hello all,

    My question is, does Windows 8.1 Enterprise support RDP protocol?
    For example, can I connect to a Windows 8.1 from another computer using RDP?
    Or RDP is exclusively built for Windows Server series?

    If no, are there any alternatives for it?
    Like VNC, TeamViewer and etc.


    I want to install Windows 8.1 on my own VPS (virtualized by VMware ESXi) by connecting from vSphere.

    Everything is the same as installing Windows Server but Windows 8.1 instead of.

    yes, 8.1 Pro and Enterprise can RDP host/client. Core and RT client only

    Does Windows 7 (Enterprise, Ultimate, Professional) SP1 support RDP Host, too? :unsure:

    Yes. You might need to install an update for compatibility with Windows 8.x (RDP 8.0).
