I'm using IR6 for the first time (been using IR5 for a while) and I've run into a problem. I run the process from the recovery shell, and it says it completes and reboots. When I log back in, however, the "Checking rearm and theme status" window seems to hang. (It's been sitting at that point for ~20 minutes at this point; another cmd window opened, ran, and closed.) The watermark still hasn't disappeared. Trying slmgr /rearm from a seperate command prompt doesn't get any results, but it also doesn't get any notification that I'm out of rearms. Any ideas? Could the firewall or virus catcher be interfering? OK, killed that process and manually checked for rearms, and it seems to have worked. Wallpaper didn't change, but the box is running Display Fusion, which manages the wallpapers, so maybe that confuses the script? Thanks for all the great work.
Is there any script to reset rearm counts without any other modification?I activated my windows with KMS method and wanted to use rearm to don't have to use KMS again. But this script set my activation to trial.
A Rearm ALWAYS resets your license. That's the purpose of a Rearm. Just apply the KMS key again and reactivate.
You cannot...it´s mandatory part of the process. Simply reactivate after installing VL key again. In case you activate via KMS no rearms are needed.
Hi all! I've got a problem, that prevents me from installing IR6. The installation description says to install IR6 the computer reboots into recovery mode, where I then should execute IR6 (by typing "c:ir6"). When I tell Duality to "install", the reboot into recovery mode is successful, HOWEVER, my mouse and keyboard are not functional (I am using normal corded usb versions of both). This means I cannot even get past the selection of region/input layout. What is the problem? Why won't my keyboard and mouse work? They worked just fine in the BIOS and when I originally installed win7 from a bootable flash drive. EDIT: The situation is even worse. Every time I restart my pc now, an IR6 command line window pops up and checks my pc. I tried using the "uninstall" option in Duality but that didn't work (which makes sense, since I never managed to install IR6). I found a file named IR6.bat in the c: folder and deleted it. That seems to have solved the problem. But I don't know how many other changes my failed installation attempt made to my system. And I still am not closer to installing IR6 in the first place...
There should be an C:\IR6 directory, too. I know that problem (using a Logitech G15 USB keyboard myself). Do you have USB Legacy support ON in BIOS?
I couldn't find an IR6 directory. I suspect one only gets that after a successful install. The ir6.bat file was probably the only thing added, since it is the file I was supposed to execute in recovery mode. I am just surprised that it auto-executes on start up even though the installation was never executed. I checked my BIOS, the legacy support is enabled. Which makes sense, since I had no problems whatsoever during the initial install of win7.
I always have the "show hidden files/folders' option on. There is no IR6 folder. And I'm quite sure it's because I wasn't able to install IR6 in the first place. Anyone know why I can't use my mouse in the recovery mode that the Duality installation starts? And what I can do to install IR6 properly?
Thanks for this nice/nasty tool, it's awesome how much effort all you guys spend in it. But there's one thing I don't like: The Download link. The file you get there installs some really strange stuff on your box (virustotal:9/45), Firefox refused to start after this proecdure, missed his runtime whatever and some other strange stuff happened. OK, no problem for me since I knew what will happen and started this "downloader" you get there in a sandbox.
Uncheck the "Use our Download Manager Box" and use the smaller grey Download button. You'll get no crapware, then.
I had just made a clean install of win 7 enterprise edition sp1. The PC and mainboard (asus maximus 6) are brand new. I tried a couple of times. Every time i get the same problem. The mouse and keyboard worked fine when I made the win 7 install from my usb flash drive. And AFAIK the windows preinstallation environment (PE) is what the RE is based on.
No, wait! That registry setting switches off the automated activation attempts of Windows (aka 'Windows will be activated in 3 days automatically'). These attempts are futile, anyway, in the D420 case.
Carlos it works fine 99% of the time. It's my project and I remember why I implemented it. There is an intermittent bug for enterprise only that shows up once in a blue moon where it says 3 days in computer properties but says otherwise other places. I've always suggested using the Ultimate SP1 that Duality 420 links to regarding non-server OS's At the beginning of me developing my projects we had just implemented a task to rearm but would get nags after a few days so that setting got rid of the nags as long as user was in 30 day period. This is like almost the only problem experienced after IR6 was installed in computer properties it would say 3 days instead of 30. No one ever solved that and MasterDisaster also did not have an solution! If the user wants to install Ultimate and test for me then I'm pretty sure this enterprise bug won't show up, given that IR6 is hardware independent Funny thing is that that registry setting was actually found on the MS webpage for KMS troubleshooting... I guess I'll be finishing up Duality 420 myself regarding the rerouting of whether or not to create or delete the Trial folder when installing/uninstalling IR6/IORRT Probably be a week or so then I'll test and post new download
