Thanks but it says: This IS NOT a backup software. It should NOT be used to backup a full install of Windows 7/8 with your personnal files.

What is better using a recovery partition or creating a backup imsgae file with Acronis True Image?

Yes, i'am interesting in restoring my system but i dont know which is better.

    a) a recovery partition
    b) a backup image (not with Acronis if its not good, but with another app)

W8 has a build in recovery system which can be used out of the box by restoring system to original if something went wrong. In that case all additional data are gone and you are like having installed from scratch. Using a backup software allows you to totally preserve everything which was on your machine and you can do a playback after a desaster

    I see.

Is the recovery partition a different thing that Win8's embedded recovery system PaulDesomnt mentioned?

W8 sets up a recovery partition by default which you cannot see. So there is no need to produce a separate one which does the same and consumes extra disc space.

I think it's falsely name Recoverym Partition, in real, it's a System Reserved Partition, which is normally not accessible for normal operation. That partition didn't has any Recovery Image in it! That's also directly to see while the size of 350MB is just enough for a few file but recovery.

Recovery Partitions are available mainly on Laptops. Those having the whole bunch of software, which are installed by the factory, in it for the case of Reset to Factory Default. Those partitions mainly not viewable and need to accessed via the BIOS.

Personally I use HDClone for to imaging or cloning a HDD. But is free, it's Payware and cost money! If the OP like to create his personal Recovery Partition, like it's done in Laptops, he could do that. Just google for the How To..... and get all required infos first hand!
