You guys fiddle around with system files too much. I've been running this install for a week now trying all sorts of programs. I think it was back with v1.3.5.1 Everything works as it's supposed to. The one thing I didn't do is use UTR, maybe that's the problem?
Hi ReelFiles, same here, all works properly with every version of redpill, the last one v1.0.4.1 works as best as others, no problem at programs(exept games, i did not tryed), my tests done on two computers...... The only problem with dual boot, maybe redpill breaks my 7 activation, and my video graphics driver(not sure it is a redpill issue, but happened after applying and then booting into 7 installation..... Of course i never tried UTR, until we have alpha/beta releases, the Microsoft Confidential text is due to be there.....(just my opinion...) Maybe UTR mess system files to remove text..... and the proof can be that neither me and Reel have issues or problems....
I believe it's not the red-pill, if you soft mod it puts a file in the bootsector, when install win8 it replaces the bootsector files, so no soft-mod.
How do you install your win8? What iso do u use? what version of redpill enabler? I did install: File: 6.2.7989.0.amd64fre.winmain.110421-1825.iso CRC-32: 374ec90d MD4: beb82b965e4b632f2b9d0488d7aa261d MD5: 4480f94c0e11ce58dc9b7330678f07dd SHA-1: c09cdcec2540d93eebe650b521b2f7ae477a300a I did use the latest RP~E (i.e. 1.4.0.1) I really liked win 8 build 7989 but w/ those issues i got, it's not fun at all. It's really fast but then i got those applictaion errors and it goes back to the first stage after a fresh install due a system repair. It's freaking annoying. :\ Never mind! I will try again tomorrow! ;]
Installed with BA .ISO, didn't mod the wim, no dual boot, activated then redpill and windows updates drivers only... that's about it
I have dual boot, but I only used redpill, not any other programs or mess with system files, and I don't have any of those issues or problems. The only complaint I have is the slower(compare to win7) restart and shut down time, but that's nothing to do with redpill ...
I had that happen too, changed power options to disable all hybernating and hybrid crap, including disabling hybrid boot and it's a lot closer to Win 7 restart times now.
Okay, I see. I patched the WIM w/ RP~E before I installed 7989. This means I'm going to do a new fresh install w/o patching the WIM tomorrow. ;] Thanks guys! Thanks ReelFiles! Edit: BA ISO is that one: MD5: 4480f94c0e11ce58dc9b7330678f07dd right?!
Using redpill the foll. are working: application, metro ui logon, modern tm, immersive browser(see attached). Not working: camera, pdf reader.
