Will you be adding a feature that auto adds the ribbon icons into explorer? As the thread with the files is gone ???
miexplore.exe is on the C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-immersivebrowser_31bf3856ad364e35_9.0.7989.0_none_b178c898899a18e9
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Immersive Browser\Microsoft.ImmersiveBrowser But it doesn't launch without the magic dll.
Fixed in version 1.1.0.1, see first post Theard was move in "7989 x64 finding" :forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/27527-Unlock-All-Ribbon-Icon-in-7989?p=449076#post449076 And here some reg (By G0B1!N5486) : cid-2356772b1299ecda.office.live.com/browse.aspx/Mods?uc=1
New v1.2 : Added the patch to unlock 90-95% icons in the ribbon explorer. (forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/27527-Unlock-All-Ribbon-Icon-in-7989?p=449076#post449076), work on all build x86 or x64. See first post ;-) Thx to G0B1!N5486 for the reg
No problems here, but try to open taskmanager, end the explorer.exe process, make new task (explorer) Now explorer loads the patched explorerframe.dll
What had you all installed before 1.2? I had 1.101. But before I had already manually unlocked the icons, before installing 1.2 I changed back to the original explorerframe, but the registry was already updated for the icons. So maybe that's why it does work here... Or does it also happen without the ribbon patch?
I had 1.101 and the ribbon patch too, but I don't changed the explorerframe back, maybe there's the fault. The problem is that there is no way to change the explorerframe back, for that I need admin-rights and I can't start cmd in taskmanager as admin.
I don't know what redpill does, but if it really patches the explorerframes rather than replacing it, it patched an already patched file. The easies thing to do is boot from a windows dvd, go to cmd there, open notepad, open a file, now you have a minimalistic explorer. Make sure you select any files instead of only txt, go to the win8 drive, delete the bad dll and rename the original one back. There are no problems with ownership or whatever in winpe, so it should work, I've done it many times this way already.
The Redpill just supress the bitmap (orange circle) in res of explorerframe.dll, if they are already supress this do nothing in explorerframe.dll, just add reg. New version 1.2.0.1 : Added a restart of explorer.exe when you patch eplorerframe.dll
My RedPill do it himself. The only programs (not mine) integrated in redpill is setacl x86 and x64 (for takeown regkey) New version 1.2.0.2 : Better patching method for explorerframe.dll Add a option to restore explorerframe.dll SetAcl HomePage : helgeklein.com/setacl/examples/
Strange, maybe as an error in my code, try to import this reg : cid-2356772b1299ecda.office.live.com/self.aspx/Mods/ribbon-icons.zip
