As I was ready for to delete an Virtual Box Windows 8 Enterprise, I just tested that tweak! Result: It didn't work! May that's I use on that the original MS Evaluation for 90 days?! Even try to use SLMGR I just get an error messages telling that those Windows 8 isn't a Core edition.........!
To check the claim, I fired a recently installed unactivated Windows 8 Enterprise x64 in Hyper-V Manager after taking a snapshot. Before above trick (fresh start) After above trick (trick application --> restart) There is no Product ID after above trick, but there is OS version watermark. Moreover, Personalization can't be used, as it shows "Windows need activation".
It will be massively cheap, unless they set the price at over £40/$65 Check out the 90 day trial you get full updates and activated. 3 months for free then low price to buy why not just get the trial then buy it
No Watermark It may be because you used this trick on already activated system after removing product key. Surely, activation does change a few things here and there in registry/file system (like permissions). Just after removing the key and then using the trick will result in forever activated OS??
Moreover, MS will not put all it eggs in one basket (all activation related stuff under single easy to find registry path). MS is wise hen
As you registered in 2009 and this is your first post I suspect you are a malicious person taking delight in telling lies and getting people to corrupt their systems. It would seem you are one of the people who wants their 5 minutes of fame. You have it, I have forgotten you already.
Warning: Using this "trick" you will destroy your Office installation if you have any on the computer. I tried this, and can not run Office 2013 after. Has to reinstall.
it did work for me at first but then i could even install my old key back, so end up doing a clean install........
Just to be clear, are we talking about ANY Enterprise version, or just either the Evaluation or the WZT release of Enterprise?
Always export the reg entries you want to delete first... then if it breaks anything you apply the saved .reg file and things are restored.
This obviously does not work, coz deleting some reg keys will not activate windows nor remove watermarks lol, mods should delete the thread.
