reinstalled W7 now DVD drive wont open???????

    i just reinstalled windows 7 ultimate x86 (from ultimate X64) and now the DVD drive wont open

    the windows 7 dvd is still in the drive

    how can i get it working again and get my dvd back???

    EDIT: I used a knife to open it :)

    dont have a paper clip and i did it while the PC was on so even worse right??

    doesnt have to be a paper clip, something tiny that will get in the lil hole will do, it is ok if it is on as long as the pc isnt reading or writing to the dvd which i doubt since it is win7 dvd.

    I think your W7 disc was not seated in the drive properly.

    An operating system would never have anything to do with any type of optical disc drive not being able to open or close.
