Than it's not good, 24% means it's looping... But we must also be concerned about memory leaks, not only about cpu usage.
I can confirm cpu usage around 24% of explorer.exe with UnknownRE x64 patch. Watermark is gone after 5+ hours but it seems to be causing a loop to explorer.exe unfortunately.
VM1 (x64) (2 GB total): 4% explorer 0 % 14.4MB VM2 (x86) (2GB total): 99% explorer 91.8% 16.9 MB HOST (x64)(16 GB total) 2% 14.2 MB so the x86 is looping in my vm (x64 seems to run fine)
I've tried the one on your signature. Replaced the x64 dll on system32 folder. Although it does not show the watermark after 5+ hours it caused 25% cpu usage on explorer. Dunno maybe others should test it too might be my bad luck
tablet cpu usage 47.2 % on x64 (so they both have a leak / loop) I will look into it EDIT: ok patched it and now the x86 machine is looping all the way ^^
If I restart my VM / tablet then the CPU usage is back to normal. It think it happens after 7 hours that the explorer is leaking (Im going to try it on a clean installation as well )
how long did you wait before you checked this? because the cpu spiking starts when it usually would have started showing the activation overlay
the samme for me same for me now four hours after having used the pasth 64 of UnknownRE the process of cpu rises to 50% for Explorer and msoobe is not running in task manager is this normal?
Confirm this will no longer work ? ReArm for 30days. 1. regedit HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionSoftwareProtectionPlatform and change the value for SkipRearm to 1 2. run "slmgr -rearm" (note! this will also reset the above mentined value to zero again) 3. Now the 30 day activating time is reset to 0 once more (You can only do this reset 7 times)
After 5 hours of running, I can confirm that woot332's patched file works without high cpu usage, the other file caused more harm than good (60% cpu on windows explorer) - I am running on Win8 Pro Rtm x86. Thanks woot332!
It seems to increase CPU usage so UnknownRE's x64 patch is not good Can there be some tool that checks for a thread in process and suspends it?
