Hello. Unfortunately, it seems that it doesn't work with the "StartIsBack" start menu installed. I personally keep having access errors (despite doing the manipulation as told).
I'm planning to install the 8.1 preview today. I'll have a look at how the ad system works and see if I can update the removal script. I'm hoping that they didn't implement encryption on the app folders. Edit: Just installed 8.1, I'm getting access denied errors on every folder within the WindowsApps directory, even after manually taking ownership. Looks like that's the only thing stopping the script from working. If someone can figure out how to unlock the WindowsApps directory, please let me know.
Hi there, Any idea about gmail calendar? Does't work for me or anyone knows nice free app without ads for Google calendar? Best regards, D4Ru73K
If you want to get permission without changing it and confusing Windows, use Linux. I'm somewhat serious. AFAIK, most Linux distros completely ignore permissions on NTFS drives. Just make a tiny Linux LiveCD/USB that runs the script(Converted to bash, of course) and reboots. Not the best idea, but its something.
I was under the impression that he was/is talking about removing the adverts because his screenshot shows him in the Remove ads from windows 8 apps thread- and because he posted in the Remove ads from windows 8 apps thread- again also because he doesn't mention what it was he ran just that he ran something.
what makes my blood boil is companies taking advantage of us by profiting on our behalves without us knowing. WE must take control back and to do that we need to stop idiots from exploiting us such as Google. Ms,Apple, yahoo etc..... block all traces, block all adverts and block all spying. the system will run smoothly without any junk added to it Good to see such programs around
