    Thanks for answers.

I already manually reseted Windows Update components; procedure is given in kb2700567 too. It did not helped. I will look at Windowsupdate.log content, but lack the knowledge to do something from what I will find there.

I believe you. I did not have suspected that the problem is to stay likely unsolved. I thought the matter was related to my own milage. Such a widely spreading problem sounds like an additional way to deter users of running further W7.

    Well, you are right.

As the KB article indicates you'd start by looking for entries labeled "fatal" and "warning" (from the bottom, since newest entries are at the end of the file), though not all warnings indicate a failure condition. Error codes you find may not look like much to you, but they usually map to specific error descriptions that can help find the issue.

It updates the Windows Update client to allow for the upgrade to 10. Assuming you don't want to upgrade to 10, you should remove it.

Of course not. Like with so many other updates listed here, there is no base for it being labeling "bad".

The fact that it's available for Embedded and Server 2008 R2, on IA-64 even, makes this a dead giveaway.
Or should I be concerned that my servers running 2008 R2 are going to get upgraded to Windows 10?

I'm not going to tell you what you "need" to do; make your own choice based on the information you have. If your own experience has been that it solves more problems than it causes, what reasons would you have for uninstalling it? Just because random people on the Internet are telling you to?

If I hide that update, my WU gets crazy. I tested it. I recommend to not uninstall it

    Then don't?
My list is a recommendation with no warranties implied. Make your own decision with your own equipment.

    Hello,
I used the tool "KILL Windows 10" and to get rid of the telemetry related updates being offered by MS forcibly but the office 2013 pro/visio pro/project pro has stopped updating too, since Nov 2015.

My question here is, has the tool used for stopping the windows telemetry update/s caused the office update stopped permanently?
Is there any solution to get the office update back to normal?
    Thank,
    sid_16.

    Run on elevated PowerShell:
    Code:
    $ms = New-Object -ComObject Microsoft.Update.ServiceManager -Strict
    $ms.AddService2("7971f918-a847-4430-9279-4a52d1efe18d",7,"")

I'm sorry to say that I don't get you! Shall I use it in command prompt with administrative right (the above coded text)? Will it fix the office related updates?
    Thanks,
    sid_16.

Not quite, you need a PowerShell prompt with administrative rights for that. Ask your local start menu if you need help finding it.

Probably. It's the command to enable Microsoft Update, which is needed for updating Office.

You can also fix it by office reinstall, select repair option...
Open a feature such as Word after your install and select 'Install updates only' in the prompt. That will set Windows Updates to auto update Office. Next, reset your Windows updates to 'Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them', and clear the box 'Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates'. Click 'OK' in dialogue to apply your new settings.
Manually run Windows updates to fully update your Office.
Avoid and hide any of these Windows 10 and telemetry updates from your check for updates list. This list applies to both Windows 7 and 8.1, so all will not be offered to your system.

Yes, I will be updating the script if and when M$ shoves out more Windows 10 upgrade nagware or telemetry updates.
Latest is version 12-20-15, several new additions block GWX...
