yup...know about that, it's just that I have not seen or known of anybody to actually use it to know if it will really work. When 2020 arrives and things are still the same with the M$ policies, I may just convert to some compatible *nix distro...if *nix does something to improve better compatibility by then.
I haven't tested it or heard anything about its' use either. Eventually, someone will figure out a way to use it. Hopefully, they'll share it here.
Hi, I have been asked to do a fresh install of Win 7. So I have decided to make a new updated Win 7 image. I last did this in jan 2016. I have WHDownloader grabbing all the updates it can get but I know the person does not want Win 10. From page 1 I made this list Are these all the updates to avoid or are there others ?
From this thread: forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/45005-Simplix-Pack-to-update-Live-Win7-System-Integrate-hotfixes-into-Win7-distribution
I thought MS had reversed their decision to stop supporting Skylake, but stayed firm about all upcoming Intel/AMD processors.
There are many programs suitable to remove or turning off telemetry (or better say spying) on Windows 10. Is it any recommended program doing the same with Windows 7. Hopefully freeware.
I was looking forward on building a new AMD Zen computer this spring and reading this worries me. Does this mean I will be unable to use Windows 7 as my operating system? I guess its time to get a server OS going again. Thanks budzos
No one knows if w7 8 and 8.1 will run on Zen until its released. Which looks like it will be january. Wait till then.
Which list is good for fresh install? From Tronscript, From NotebookReview forum, Windows7/8 - Updates to hide to prevent Windows 10 Upgrade / Disable Telemetry From Simplix Pack,
Go with Simplix list although, KB3172605 is the permanent fix for Windows Update scan and should not be avoided
I still thinking the data still send to NSA though backdoor even I have blocked telemetry updates. Windows can also bypassing hosts files. If this is real, removing _NSAKEY is the only way.
Hello, I would ask you if the new way microsoft is updating windows 7 means now their will be no way to avoid all the problematic patches (privacy, telemetry, anti-piracy, winX upgrade, or bugs...) that were excluded if they come back again, but to not update anything?! or is their hope that someone will find a solution to 'dessicate' those roll ups... It has been a year since I haven't updated my windows (genuine thanks to DAZ loader) and I don't really know how to update now or if I can... seems better to wait for now... thank you
