there are some rumors around telling that removing the watermark of new TP version will cause problems with retrieving future updates. Currently take it with some salt but be warned upon this issue
use a loader to patch watermark code in virtual memory instead, its the best option. zero terminate watermark buffer or fill with space bytes 20h just before call to draw string on desktop.
I had both the watermark and the search/task view icons hidden. Ran SFC /scannow and it completed just fine but said I had files that could not be repaired. Brought the hidden items back, and then ran a repair using DISM and my original installation source files. Repair completed successfully. Ran SFC /scannow and got the same result as before - unable to repair some files. Weirdness. Edit: it just occurred to me the problem might be files altered by Classic Shell.
