Hello Ipmark. Thank you for the prompt response! I connected the new wireless card after putting the computer to sleep. The new device ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&SUBSYS_52218086&REV_34 I am also in the process of installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 home premium using a microsoft disc (non-HP). I deleted all partitions (with the windows 7 disc, including hp tools, which i backed up previously just in case) and installed windows 7 on unallocated space. Which method do you recommend for flashing the new BIOS? Thanks again!
Hi Ipmark, I tried this mod.The result is deplorable. After the reboot caused by flasher, the laptop is not switched on (power light is on, the CAPSLOCK LED blinks on) or with no Broadcom with Intel laptop and it does not start. Sorry for my bad english (its not me, its Google).
I understand the risks. I'd like to try anyway. At this point I have no other choice. It's either I mod the bios or get a WiDi enabled laptop for my setup. I am confident I can recover the laptop from a bricked state using the instructions provided here.
Ok, let's try. Biosmod: HP_ProBook_4530s_sp54862_WL_Patched_LeoNYC.rar mediafire.com/download.php?ntnfvt6baniy85i Keep your fingers crossed .... I cannot do more than this ATM. Please post results.
Ipmark, I came across a mod by Camiloml already. He tried to remove the whitelist as a whole. If you took only correct IDs WiFi-modules,can be turned to help me with my problem. In any case, thanks for your help, because no one else could not help me.For you I only hope.
The real problem is to find a way to reflash the modified bios without brick the PC. It can be done with an eeprom programmer and a RSA signed decrypted bios, but not with the windows flasher (patched or not) provided with the bios package. There must be some sort of check to prevent broken RSA signed bios flash, I don't know where. It's very easy to patch your bios, it took 3 minutes only ... Be patient for a while, I need to do some research on the web.
I totally agree. I myself ran into a wall at the stage of the "right package" is already patched bios file...
