Copy/move the biosmod package in C:\BIOS folder Open command prompt and type: C: <enter> cd\ <enter> cd BIOS <enter> WINUPTP /S <enter>
Well, I flashed the modded bios and now I can see both WLAN cards. I am facing a very strange problem to power on the transmitter of both cards, I tried the laptop side switch both ways with no effect, does anyone know how to bypass this? Anyway I want to thank you very much for your time and effort. I also want to ask you if this modded BIOS has white listed only the 2 cards I asked or it has no white list so I can connect every WLAN card I want?
I replaced 2 Device ID from the whitelist with the new IDs you provided, maybe the new cards are not 100% compatible with your notebook. If you have other WI-FI cards to test, provide the Device IDs and I will patch the bios again for you.
I think it is not compatibility issue, i found on the internet some others facing the same problem even with the original wlan card. Anyway thank you very much for everything, I will inform here for the results.
Hello Ipmark. Thank you for the prompt response! I connected the new wireless card after putting the computer to sleep. The new device ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&SUBSYS_52218086&REV_34 I am also in the process of installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 home premium using a microsoft disc (non-HP). I deleted all partitions (with the windows 7 disc, including hp tools, which i backed up previously just in case) and installed windows 7 on unallocated space. Which method do you recommend for flashing the new BIOS? Thanks again!
Hi Ipmark, I tried this mod.The result is deplorable. After the reboot caused by flasher, the laptop is not switched on (power light is on, the CAPSLOCK LED blinks on) or with no Broadcom with Intel laptop and it does not start. Sorry for my bad english (its not me, its Google).
I understand the risks. I'd like to try anyway. At this point I have no other choice. It's either I mod the bios or get a WiDi enabled laptop for my setup. I am confident I can recover the laptop from a bricked state using the instructions provided here.
