Ok, its pretty obvious that I did not read the following posts! I assume there is no other way of doing it? I found a workaround of putting it into boot options screen then putting it in and both OSes reconised it and it worked.

With no Wifi card in F9 to boot options menu. Then install while on that screen then select your boot media and it boots up detects and works fine.

Because of this I have another idea with this card that you might be able to help with. This version of card is meant to be compatible (chipset 4322) but I think that becuase it is a Dell one rather than HP or Broadcom itself it doesnt like it. However these cards can be re flashed via linux as this is dont to change ID so that they can be detected as Apple cards for Hackintoshes. So! My thinking at the moment is that if I flash this card with the HP models info then it should work. My only problem (and this is the bit i think you may be able to help) is that I need the subsys vendor and product ID for a HP Broadcom 4322 abgn any ideas?

    No Hope?

    Hello All,

Not sure if anyone can either modify the bios or change the ID, I still haven't found anything useful on the web! Thanks for looking if you can't!

    Thanks All,

    Joe

Your bios is RSA signed, so it can't be modified in any way.

If you want to search a compatible device the whitelist is in the CD28DACA-BDBE-481A-90AC-625C79CF234C_2_949.ROM module.

Thank you very much, that was a lightning fast response!

Since I did not have access to a Windows installation, I flashed the .rom with PHLASH16 from a bootable USB stick. I succeeded with PHLASH16 v1.7.0.0. Earlier versions of PHLASH16 gave me the "IBM table signature not found in the interface" error message.

Once I had the PHLASH16 issue sorted out, updating the BIOS went like a charm, and the 1802 error is gone. The new wifi card works flawlessly.

    Thanks again for your help!
