    Thanks!

It's moded bios for T520i by submitted by Serg008
Flashed it, thanks!! :) Seems like it works but I have some questions... I disabled internal wifi in laptop, but the new mini pci card I inserted won't show up in lspci list in Ubuntu 12.04? It's strange but even then I'm able to connect to wifi network, and my MAC address is changed so it seems I do use newly inserted mini pci card (DW1510).

So I guess, everything is alright in Linux, but the reason I did it all was to make wifi work in OS X Lion... Sadly, OS X is not recoginising anything, and I have yet to surf around to see if I can enable the card...

Anyways, thanks! Machine is not complaining for dissallowed hardware at boot.

Hi i'm a newbie to bios editing, the trouble with my current wireless card ar9485wb-eg, i'm getting loss of connection most the time, I wanted to add an intel 6230 to my bios.

I've changed wireless card but however i noticed that my AMI bios doesn't support my card.
I used Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0 to get my samsung bios backed up.
My current wireless card ar9485 is currently removed.

    -Manufacturer: Samsung Laptop
-Motherboard Model: NP300E5A-A04DX, amd based system.
    -Bios revision: 05QN.MI05.20120329.SKK
    -Bios Type:AMI / ACPI 2.0
    -Bios Download Link: http://www.2shared.com/file/Y-MKljvs/AmericanMegatrendsInc-05QNMI05.html
-Current card: ar9485wb-eg with bluetooth 4.0.

    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_4105144D&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_4105144D
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&CC_0280

-Card to be added: Intel centrino Advanced N 6230 with bluetooth 3.0.
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0090&SUBSYS_52118086

I've installed the intel 6230 card the bluetooth works however the wireless doesn't.
The intel wireless card says in device manager, device status "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

I would prefer if the whitelist will be removed for able future device replacements. Thank you!!!

I've tired with ADDCC... After compile patched bios in cab i can't patch HPQFlash and included HPQFlash doesn't work too - there is error after click "Continue" btn - "Driver's load error..."

PS: Does it possible to enable internal keyboard and touchpad work with closed laptop? Why they make this stupid things??? :/

I am attempting to replace the crippled Broadcom WiFi / Bluetooth adapter in my HP Pavilion DM4-1050ea with a full speed Intel Centrino 6235AN adapter. The F27 BIOS does not support the Centrino device and posts “WLAN device not supported (702)” (or words to that effect), suggesting that a whitelist is in-play.

I have accumulated all of the necessary tools to mod and re-flash the BIOS, but I have discovered a discrepancy between the instructions on Page #1 and the data that is presented from this BIOS. Although the vendor + device strings only exist in one of the unpacked ROM files, there is no sign of any meaningful subsys strings. None of my numerous attempts to add the Centrino into the whitelist have resulted in success so far, so I am seeking some more detailed advice on where I am going wrong.

    Model: HP Pavilion DM4-1050ea
    BIOS Type: Insyde
    BIOS Version: F27 (2012-02-08)
    BIOS Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56001-56500/sp56058.exe

    Original WiFi/BT: Broadcom 4313/2070 Combo Mini-PCI
    Vendor: 14E4
    Device: 4727
    Subsys: 145C103C

    New WiFi/BT: Intel Centrino 6235AN Combi Mini-PCI
    Vendor 8086
    Device: 088E
    Subsys: 40608086

After unpacking the F27 BIOS with Andy’s utility and searching for the Broadcom device using “E4 14 27 47” I get a result of only one ROM file (981A25E0-0D83-436D-9184-C1AA53BB143A_2_304.ROM). The bytes within the red rectangles look suspiciously like a vendor / device lookup table to me, with the Broadcom device appearing twice, underlined in green. The trouble is that there seems to be no credible subsys data within the blue rectangles. I have tried replacing some of the existing Intel strings “86 80 …” with “86 80 8E 08” for the Centrino device, but the BIOS still posts the 702 error.

Can anyone here offer me any pointers?

    Hello!
I am trying to replace a wifi card on my laptop. I am willing to dump, flash, read, write and try things in order to learn and replace my card if there is no ready made solution.
    Here is some info.

    Model: HP Compaq CQ56-201sv
    Bios Type: Insyde UEFI
    Bios version: F.15
    Bios Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52622.exe

    Old Card: Ralink RT53890 PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_1636103C&REV_00

New card: Atheros AR5B195 (with a BT module) PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_1461103C&REV_01

Note: I have flashed the extra features file sp52622_MoreOptions_ByCamiloml and it works fine, extra features are enabled.
The other no white list sp52622_NWL_ByCamiloml file does NOT work, it reboots, starts the proccess and fails to update.

    Best regards
