You may be right but for some reason it doesn't flash. It says flash failed etc. and then it restarts without upgrading.

I think the Softoaq is for different models motherboards? Is the mod done on the Motherboard ID 1484?? or for another motherboard ID?

I have a Thinkpad x120e that's running Linux. I have two different modified 1.16 BIOS's (unfortunately I don't remember where I got them) that want me to use winflash.exe, which isn't an option for me.

What I've tried doing is mounting the official Lenovo BIOS iso and replacing the '$0A8F000_NWL.FL1' file with the FL1 file from either of my modified BIOS's. This is what I've done so far, and none of it has worked:

    • Tried updating from 1.15 to 1.16, modified without a whitelist - I get a red "an error has occurred" message during flash
    • Tried updating from 1.16 to 1.16, modified without a whitelist - Says an update is not necessary

I read some where that creating a 'PFLASH.RSP' file in the update directory, with the contents of '-sa' would allow me to update from 1.16 to 1.16. It didn't have any effect for me.

So, many questions. The all encompassing one being, how can I get a modified 1.16 BIOS on my x120e while running Linux? Am I way off-base by just replacing the 'FL1' file? Is the error I get when trying to go from 1.15 to a modified 1.16 just because I'm not starting out on the same BIOS revision?

Thank you very much for the help. I never knew a community like this existed, and I'm certainly glad that it does.
