For others looking to remove the Lenovo Z580 whitelist, you need to find a copy of fptw64.exe. If you use Serg's fix made from data2318's BIOS, you WILL lose Win 8 activation as the Win 8 keys are now stored in the BIOS, so if you don't care about Windows 8 then you are fine to do it. The command to use was: Right click fptw64.exe and Unblock. I selected Win 7 compatibility mode but I doubt this made much difference. Open command prompt as administrator fptw64.exe -d <backup file of old BIOS> -bios fptw64.exe -f <your new BIOS> -bios I was then able to install a Centrino 6300 to replace the crappy Broadcom 4313 that was installed (that has no stable and working Linux driver and doesn't work well in Win 8).
Request for Lenovo Ideapad Z360 Whitelist Removal or Atheros AR9285 to Intel 6205 Hello to all, I am for some time now trying to figure out how to get my new Intel 6205 Wifi card to work in my Z360 Ideapad by Lenovo. I followed all instructions I could find, but get stuck at the point where I should find the actual Wifi card on the whitelist and replace it with the new one. Could please someone do the mod for me? -Manufacturer: Lenovo Ideapad Z360 -Motherboard Model: LL1 -Bios revision: 35CN22WW -Bios Type: Phoenix -Bios Download Link: download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/Driver/en/Downloads%20and%20Drivers/Z360/BIOS/35CN22WW64.exe -Current original card: PCI\VEN_168c&DEV_002b&SUBSYS_30a117aa -Card to be added: pci\ven_8086&dev_0082&subsys_13018086 Alternatively, I would also like to learn how to do the mod myself.
