Yes. I have been having all sorts of strange happenings with one card.

PM me if you need other information. Thanks, you have been very helpful!!!

Will this fix the assertion of pin 20 (hardware switch) for the WWAN? Form there I just keep modified Access Connex and it should pop up in FN+F5?

MC8790V (don't know which one you need):
    SWMUXBUS\SW_NET_0_VID_1199&PID_683c
    USB\VID_1199&PID_683c&MI_00
    USB\VID_1199&PID_683c&REV_0006&MI_00

Intel Ultimate-N 6300 (works now, but adding can't hurt):
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422b&SUBSYS_11018086

    WWAN card is the issue.
I tried both ways. Without tape, card is never visible to OS. Turns off right before windows loading screen. Check voltage on pin with my meter and it is 0.0V meaning W_Disable is asserted.
If I remove the card(untaped) at startup(not there during POST), and insert under windows, pops up just fine and works. Reboot, gone again after POST. Light for WLAN/WWAN solid throughout post and turns off as the windows boot screen pops up.

I get the taping from ender's instructions, if you were wondering why I was doing it. It has worked in the past to allow the device to be seen by OS.

Access Connections is uninstalled and I am still having the issue. That was the first thing I tried. I was told there may be a second whitelist in the BIOS. Think so? If there were it would be towards the tail end of the boot up process.

This is a more interesting case. This model card was never IBM/Lenovo branded. There exist no ID's in Access Connections .dll's to allow its integration. I read about being able to add/modify the ID's to allow new devices. Mods go in ACon.dll and ACAdaptersInfo.dll.
Hasn't worked on either this model or my T61, so FN+F5 won't work and I have to stick with the watcher app.

Sorry for this challenge. Still think you can fix it? I been working on it for 2 months on my T61, and now on my W510 for a week.

Ok let's narrow the scope. Forget the .dll stuff now. The T61 requires the pin to be taped too. That BIOS is an original mod made by ender.

The behavior before taping pins is the same. When I tape the pin on card using the T61, card works fine.
Behaves differently for the W510 after taping.

Same POST behavior on the T61, WWAN LED solid, goes off as it hits windows load, never comes back, no device in OS.

I just had a thought. I also have a MC8765. That card works fine in the T61 stock, no taping. It of course is Lenovo branded, but was never meant for T61 so it required BIOS mod. I will try it in the W510 and post feedback.

EDIT: I also checked the PSD's for both cards. The MC8790V has a bunch of 2.6V max pins. I read 3.33 going into them. That may be the issue. Why this is done makes the least bit of sense. And they reference the Mini Pci Express Spec R1.2 as being compliant. The MC8765 spec shows a much simpler system to troubleshoot.

EDIT2: Trying the 8765 now. Another strange symptom I am seeing with the 8790V is 2 cycles of 5 beeps on AC power on.

    Thanks.

i am very interested by this 2 cycles of 5 beeps at power on.
Do you have it only with the WWAN or not, is it something new or you forget to mention it in first message.

Sorry about that. I also saw it with a previous bios that was an older version modded without a whitelist. My guess was a lenovo anti-bios modding feature...

I can confirm I see it regardless of card.

I did not notice any differences. They appeared to be the same. I have the card working now with a few issues.

Still have beeps on start up. Cannot put computer to sleep as the WWAN card prevents it. The same with shutdown/restart. The machine sits idle while the WLAN light blinks.

For now I think the only thing that is a function of the BIOS is the beeping on start up.

I am still getting beeps. If you have a T410, you have different hardware. If you were to try it and still get beeps that would confirm the issue. I know it "works" on the W510. I say works because I think my hardware is the issue, not the bios. Hardware being just my WWAN card which is a long shot away from anything anyone's probably tried thus so far.

I agree, TTAV134's work is great! If he didn't get me a bios patch, I wouldn't have hoped to even have something near working and probably would have given up on an open card laptop. Good Job!

T410, X201, W510 have all same problem, once the bios is modified we have these 2*5 beeps at startup.
As i am not owner of such machine i think it will be difficult to solve this issue, i will remove the download links to these bios.

    regards
