Since I'm not experienced at this thing I wanted to double check am I supposed to be doing something else, some additional information?
Serg008.... Sorry but I'm a bit confused. For a couple of us the G580, same model number as listed above and the "Check PM" advice, we have not been able to install the updated firmware. Did you figure something out?
Serg008, So I am backing up the existing bios with the flas**t utility, flas**t -g. Then that bios backup made with the -g command parameter I am reflashing back to the G580 with the flas**t.exe BACKUP.ROM /all -MC. Is that the end of the process? Do I need to then try the previous bios that is generating the error 28 thing? When you say "flash this backup back (in pure DOS env.)" the "this" reads as if you are referring to a particular bios. It is great to see John was able to succeed.
