    Hello TTAV134,
Can you help me remove the WWAN whitelist please? I tried to install Sierra mc8790v, but the laptop doesn't start, on the other hands the same card works flawlessly on Dell latitude d620. I tried all previous BIOS versions for my laptop, even A00, none of them helped me to get this card working.
So I believe there must be an issue with the card vendor....

    Manufacturer: DELL
    Model: Inspiron 1520
    BIOS Type: Phoenix
    BIOS Revision: A09 14/07/2008
    BIOS Download Link: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/1520_A09.EXE

    Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the fast response. somehow the quanta.vbs is not considered a executable file for my notebook. I tried to research yesterday to see if there might be something I need to activate on my notebook in order to be able to run the script. well, I could not figure out. any guidance? thanks again.

BIOS worked great. I do not have the 2x5 beep issue you mention. I now have an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422B&SUBSYS_11018086&REV_35) installed, which is listed as an allowed device, just that this one is not a Lenovo part number. Thanks.

Yes, I tried right clicking the file, but both my computers doesn't recognise .vbs as an executable file. No 'run as administrator' option available.
I also tried running the winflash app included in the zip-file, but it gives me an error message.
There's two .wph files in the zip file. Wich one is the correct bios file? I tried flashing one of them with PH161700.exe but I only get error message 'incorrect bios file for your computer'. I have a pavilion dv6500 and the original bios flasher (sp48124.exe) runs fine.
Anyone got suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks.

I have the same issue and ask the same question a few days ago for sp48024 on my HP dv9700. There is no such option to "run as administrator" on my vista 32bit when I right click on quanta.vbs ... not even the option to "run". I then reboot and log in as administrator and then double click quanta.vbs, all I got was 2 updated phlash files in swinflash folder. I thought maybe the updated phlash files indicate completion of the flash, yet when I put in the new wireless card, I still get error 104 from boot. not sure what I did wrong.. help?

I just got mine to work. Here is how I did:

    1) I extracted the zip file to a location I designated.
    2) I logged in as admin and double clicked on the quanta.vbs file. it created some sort of log in my swinflash folder (i have 32bit vista) ... this step might not be necessary, but it does not have any side effect :) BTW, run as admin was not an option for me as you can see from my previous post.
    3) I then went straight to the swinflash folder and double click on the swinflash.exe file
    4) I click advanced to only check the 2 boxes see below:
Upon opening the WinPhlash 32 or 64 bit, click "Advanced Settings" then check and uncheck the boxes so it looks like this:

    ("Flags" Tab):
[ ] Verify BIOS part number
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer
[ ] Verify BIOS image size
    [ ] Verify BIOS checksum
[ ] Zero block before erasing
    [x] Verify block after programming
[x] Disable Axx swaping automatic detection (if present)
    [ ] Clear CMOS Checksum

    ("DMI" tab)
"Update": Select "Update the BIOS and not DMI"
    4) I then select "30ccF5A.WPH" as my new BIOS file.
    5) I then click on "flash BIOS" and let it rip:) make sure you close all your other apps and connect to external power when you run
    6) after BIOs update, your pc will shut down automatically.
    7) then I detach the battery from back and detach power, open up back and replace with the new 6300 centrino card.
    8) power up the dv9700.
    9) connect to a ethernet line and go to intel site and download and install the centrino 6300 driver
    10) Wala, all set to go captain!

    Hope this helps.

TTAV134, a BIG thank you for your codes. I really appreciate your fix on sp8024!

how to use vbs file in vista (or other platform) is discussed in many place over the internet, use google to search.
    eg: microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...-us/wsh_runfromwindowsbasedhost.mspx?mfr=true
in the extract folder open a command box (cmd) and use this command line:
    START /WAIT CScript QUANTA.vbs //NoLogo
or copy this command line in a .bat file.
