OK, I cannot see which of the two BIOS files to flash! I have seen comments about a 32-bit and 64-bit BIOS but why? All BIOSes run in real mode and the "size" is of no concern. Is 309B0F54.wph the right one, or is 309B1F54.wph the right one for a Compaq Presario V5000? The model of mine is V5115CA and the processor is an AMD turion.

I have a Compaq V5000 (model number V5115CA) but I'm puzzled about what *.wph file to flash!
I have tried to flash the original F.54 from Win 7 but get nowhere but failures (and I did try running it a admin).
    Any ideas?

Eventually I tested that BIOS and it is still RSA signed. Can you verify that someone successfully recovered their BIOS if it failed in the pass? I'm willing to take the risk. It is even better if you can let me know which BIOS version that is not RSA signed so I can downgrade to that BIOS.

Thanks a lot for your work.

    Best,

Mostly, the best is to downgrade to the oldest you can and then give it a shot...
