Hi, I just bought a new Lenovo G505s AMD A10 5750 Laptop and have been having poor internet speed issues. After researching a bit, realized that the WLAN card is Atheros AR 956x, which has been rated as a very bad performance card and my internet speed doesnt go up till 1 Mbps itself. I have another laptop, Dell Inspiron 1440, 6 yrs old, even that laptop gets a speed of 4 Mbps on the same network. Can anyone help me remove the whitelist and suggest what could be done to improve. I may sound like a noob as I have no clue how a 2014 laptop can be beaten by a 6 yrs old laptop. Any guidance will help. Thanks in advance.
If you can modify the current bios (F.21?) I could always try the recovery method of installing the bios... perhaps it works... I think I can get my hands on another 4720s, with a older bios, perhaps I can swap the chips
Hi Serg008, I would still like to have the modded bios (F.21 / F.20 or older version) I made a recovery usb stick and tested it to do a emergency bios recovery which worked so I'm willing to try and see if a modded (older) bios can be used with the recovery stick.
As I wrote, the flashing of the modified bios ( both F20 and F21) is not possible due to the improved security for the BIOS flashing process. And, after F.20 update has been installed, any prior BIOS versions cannot be installed.
Hi, I've the new wifi card more than one month, will someone try to perform the mod? I can pay some if needed to! Thanks ;-)
