@Tito even without opencore I told you I fresh installed windows once and same problem. I even tried now a live installation of ubuntu same thing it detects the bluetooth and it's on but wifi does not exist.
Hello. I dont think there's a an explicit setting for DMA mode but will check anyways. Meanwhile, could you check the speeds under linux enviroment just to make sure windows isn't the culript.
I have checked them in Debian 12 (32bit), the same speeds as windows XP, for sure the bios si limiting DMA mode
I have not found a DMA mode setting. I also downloaded a datasheet for IO hub and found out that DMA mode is controlled by multiple registers. Honestly, I'm not going to make it if I put my mind to it. For this reason and because I don't want to experiment on a device that's not mine, I won't try to mod the bios.
@NacherasTM Today I forced myself to take a look at the file. Was skeptical at first. Spoiler: But the possible whitelist is found in bioscod1 module What worries me is that there are other devices in the function which are not related to removables. Should I modify the bios as usual and see what happens? Or should I consider replacing one of the device IDs for safety?
I´m going to replace the 2200BG card with the TP-Link TL-WN861N one, so replace one of the devices IDs for safety. If you modify the BIOS as usual , is there any risk of bricking it??
There always is. Faulty mod or a sudden power outage can brick your device. I didn't find any modded bios file for the laptop. You can consider my further attempts helping you as a process of trial and error. I'm going to look for the IDs of TL-WN861N. I'll contact you via private messages when mod file is completed.
