    Thank you very much for your great work. And yes, i bought the Laptop without any OS, but since i am using Windows XP and Ubuntu, i don't need the SLIC.

    as i wrote: It is a new whitelist protection scheme, much more complicated than usual, you will not have error messages "Unsupported wireless ...." but I'm not 100% sure that the new card will be recognize.
    If you have same issue with an other card, the PCI ID substitution in whitelist may solve.

    let me know

    Unfortunately this happens also to me, with an Intel WiFi Link 5100 and an HP 6735s (as I wrote many posts ago, when TTAV134 discovered how to remove the withelist for that BIOS model), the only drivers that works are the latest that the System Update finds.. The latest drivers on the Intel site freeze the system (and I read on the web that this not happen only for who modded the BIOS), and so far I not found a solution.

    we cannot compare these 2 different situations, but that's not the first time users complain of Intel WiFi Link 5100 drivers, and especially on 64bit platform.

    @ death_jax
    happy to see you, that's a long time we have worked together.
