Will not work on Lenovo Edge 13 with SLIC BIOS already flashed Hi! I was just googling around this very issue. The thing is that i got a completely broken laptop and salvaged a HP un4200 3G card from it. As this card is just a usb device it has no PCI ID or whatsoever. If i plug it into my Lenovo Edge 13 i get the infamous 1804 message on boot. If i plug in the card after the os has loaded (may be dangerous, please do NO do this!) it woirks flawlessly. I already picked up a SLIC BIOS from here (posted somewhere earlier this thread) and flashed it. I checked for success in the BIOS setup and i see that there is a different version now. However, i still can't get rid of the bootup message. The exact model of my machine ist Edge 13 type 0197. I also read the first message in this thread but this does not apply as there really is no PCIVEN or or other PCI related ID available for said 3G card. I feel ready to do patching myself if someone can tell me if the first thread message applies to usb-only devices as well and where to patch the info. Many thanks in advance
I found a copy of my bios that pheonix tool 1.85 can read so I got the dump roms from it. If I can find and change the dev ids on my current card to the one I'm upgrading to will that likely work? my system came with a bin and sig file in the backup area of the hard drive it came with. Will that sig work if I just change that in the module?
