Firstly, update to the latest bios. Then flash the modded bios send by qtm ;)

yes, you can use it with your Lenovo Thinkpad x120e laptop.
This is a custom modded bios, so just replace original bios with it and have luck.

As for me, I don't try this bios. I currently use my own patched bios (see post #1750 on this thread).
It somehow differ from this one, so you have a choice ;-)

Can you provide a link to either your 1.15 or 1.16 bios without whitelist please?

All the ones I've tried seem to flash OK, but my new wireless card is never detected by the OS...I assume it is still being whitelisted.

    thanks

    Can someone also clarify something:

I have installed my own Intel 5300 wireless card in the full height slot and flashed the bios with whitelist-free version from this thread.

I do not get any BIOS errors at all, so does this mean the whitelist-free BIOS is working?

However, the new Intel 5300 is not detected AT ALL by Windows, not as an undetected device or as a known device, it simply doesn't exist in Windows.

The BIOS-error free boot and the lack of detection by Windows are confusing me.

    Any advise?

"1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card"

This message says: (1) you bios has whitelist enabled, (2) you insert a NOT whitelisted network card.

    Do the following steps:
    1. Remove miniPCI network card
    2. boot operation system and flash NOwhitelist modded bios.
    3. Reboot computer and plug your miniPCI network card again.

This is the procedure I followed, but thanks for the reply.

Since I am not getting a BIOS error, I will assume the whitelist-free bios install was successful.

I just put the "new" intel card into another laptop (a lenovo t420s) and did not receive a BIOS error, but it did not appear to this OS either.

I think I am going to right this intel card off as bad since that is 2 laptops that do not detect it.

    thanks for all the efforts!

I currently have the 1.13 non-whitelisted firmware installed on my Thinkpad x120e. I downloaded both Laska's and the other 1.16 firmware, but upon trying to flash either one using winflash.exe, I get this error:

The program refuses to go any further. Am I doing something wrong? I've never come across this problem before when flashing my x120e.

    Try to enable bios flashing.
Enter BIOS, select "Security" tab, choose "UEFI BIOS Update Option", set "Flash BIOS Updating by End-Users" to "Enabled" and try again.

Don't forget to save bios settings.
select "Restart" tab and choose "Exit Saving Changes"

I don't think I've ever had that function disabled. Why would it be disabled now?

Ok, I just restarted and went into BIOS settings, and that particular security option was already enabled. I saved and exited anyway and restarted. I must make a correction and say that I'm actually on laska's modded 1.14 firmware at the moment. I don't understand why the 1.16 mod still isn't working.
