You have to use the biosmod package in Windows environment and you can leave the loader in memory, the mod doesn't add the SLIC 2.1 table.
If you want I can add the SLIC 2.1 table, in this case provide the RWE report.
I think is better you check the "whitelist removed" works before.

    Hello

I want to patch the BIOS of my Lenovo N500 3000, too but I've got one question:

The version of the BIOS is 6GET19WW(for NON-HDMI) 01/28/2010 i.e. the latest one but SLIC Toolkit V3.2 shows the SLIC version as SLIC 2.0, i.e. not SLIC 2.1

I was wondering if SLIC 2.0 would prevent me from properly patching the BIOS?

Do I have to make it SLIC 2.1 for white-list removal patch?

    Lenovo SLIC 2.1 added ONLY.

    Biosmod:
    Lenovo_N500_6get19ww_LENOVO_SLIC_SSV2.rar
    mediafire.com/download.php?w96sa4jvm9y4mbx

    Please post results.

I cannot revove the whitelist, but if you provide the hardware ID of original wi-fi card and the new one I can try to patch it.

    hello IPMark,

The modified BIOS you've provided worked with no problems
and now the SLIC Toolkit v3.2 shows SLIC 2.1 Thanks!

I 'm bound to do the white-list removal now but there I have another trouble, too.

    First things first:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4337&SUBSYS_12118086&REV_00\4&492937F&0&00E2 -->The currently inserted WLAN card ID
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4311&SUBSYS_042211468&REV_01\4&492937F&0&00E2 --> The WLAN card ID I'd like to use

    The trouble I have is:

After I opened the (now SLIC 2.1 modified) bios.wph in Phoenix Editor, and under \TEMP folder, I cannot search for the values 86 80 37 43 for all files in \TEMP. I have tried that with Hxd and Ultraedit, those programs seem to be unable to search multiple files for hexadecimal values. How do I do that/which hexadecimal editor do you use for that?

Also, how did you patch the BIOS for SLIC 2.1 injection, which tool have you used?

    Thanks for the feedback. ;)

The hardware IDs you provided are wrong.
The first probably is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4237&SUBSYS_12118086, this is Device ID of Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100.
The second has the SUBSYS (042211468) with 9 digits, it should be 8 digits.

The whitelist to be patched is in BIOSCOD02.ROM module, starting at offset 0A51

I use Winhex v15.4, it can set a search mask for text or hex values in folder opening, very useful for this kind of job.

    Winhex v15.4 SR-5.rar
    mediafire.com/download.php?aqm4ad5a09ea8ag

And finally, for the SLIC 2.1 injection I used Phoenix tool v1.94, SSV2 method.

Do you wanna know more ?

Oopps, yeah that's right the ID's I have given, have those errors; I've just became aware of it after you pointed out and yeas the first one was the Intel WiFi Link 5100, (and the second one was Broadcom BCM94311MCG) (and after all these, you might have guessed what I'm after: To run Mac OS on this Laptop)

I have downloaded (thank you for the link) and yes, Winhex is good for the purpose and it has easily found the "corrected" ID of 3742 in BIOSCOD02.ROM, that's fine.

Do I wanna know more? with these tips and information I think I can make the patch now, so that 's ok now. Without those tips and info I would surely struggle and probably not make it at all, BIOS patching is not like other jobs, it's serious (brick possibility) So, thanks a lot!
