1. There's a different MAC address for every produced LAN cards so this will generate a different HWiD. 2. Another serial numbers (just guessing) in BIOS/UEFI or chipset. 3. But most important is CPU's serial number.
I guess the most basic way to say it is, every computer has its own checksum. Not so different from an ISO file created at MS will have one SHA1, yet every computer that makes an identical iso will have a different SHA value, hence (not so identical) lol
they can change the activation technology at any time. Hell they can send it in a hot fix, no need for any special build. Who knows, KMS activation as we know/use it could be done come next update Tuesday
"A lot of people believe that a backup copy of Windows that was Activated will save you if you are ever deactivated-WRONG. Backups will not save you, your activation is on MS Servers, every time you reboot the MS Server either activates you are not." hmm, if that is true, how can you explain what happens if you do not connect to the net? restore backup that was activated and do not connect?
I have seen when moving a DE activated copy to a PC without a DE the OS shows as activated IF Not connected to the internet, but For How Long As soon as You check for updates using Any Windows OS You're sending Your complete system specs such as MOBO, CPU, GPU RAM etc. as well as nfo of what OS You're running along with the activation information and nfo on other M$ products You have such as Office. (Plus Who Knows What Else ?) So not using WUS isn't a problem, BUT I'm sure the list of other Services that would need to be blocked is almost endless.
I do not believe we are really going to know the full extent of all this until Anniversary Update comes out, it maybe a game changer, who knows, by the way Bat.1 Sir, it's no longer digital entitlement, it's digital license, about as bad as me thinking the all you could not change for activation purposes was Motherboard, EFA11 corrected me, it's motherboard/and or CPU.
Well a CPU change sounds like Just Stupid ! Now what would have happened when I built My desktop Before I could install the FX in the ASUS MOBO I had to install a Athlon or Phenom CPU and upgrade the BIOS. Same thing on Bat.2's Rig The MSI MOBO needed a Trinity APU installed and the BIOS upgraded before I could install the A8-6600K Richland
Those are the rules Sir, I can get you MS's complaint telephone number if you would like or you and your pet 15 foot gator may want to visit them.
If you read article, I believe somehow they will be able to tell, but now you can call them and say it was a hardware failure instead of upgrade and remain activated.
I wonder if they are pulling serial numbers out of the CPU or motherboard.... that could be what they are looking for.
