I have discovered an interesting behavior. After adding the routing rules suggested by aeonian earlier in this thread I then blocked the following 2 url's in my eset firewall: settings-win.data.microsoft.com & vortex-win.data.microsoft.com. Once this was in place I could no longer go to google.com. If I removed either url from my eset list of blocked addresses I can browse google. It appears that google.com is not accessible if both of the microsoft url's are blocked by the firewall. If only one of these addresses is blocked then google.com is accessible. Is this repeatable by others or am I missing something?
Sorry if its a repost but did anyone tested WFC10 ? @sphinx-soft.com I'm currently testdriving WFC10 on W10 and honestly there's really only OUT what i say will go OUT. Same for IN of course..
What is this AcrylicDNS method your referring? Can you please give a link or something on how to do it?
Caution Has anyone faced any kind of private data(docs, software, projects, music, movies, TV shows, etc) loss or change without your interference in Windows 10 yet? I'm asking this because, M$ now has more control over our system, than ever before, because of Windows 10. And I don't think this is an unrelated topic.
Just because I chose to use it, doesn't make them to be worshiped. It's a product/service and I'm a customer. If we do/obey/accept whatever companies sell us without questioning, what are we? We are humans and suppose to be smarter than other species. That's why people here on MDL are doing their hard work to stop spying/data collecting/etc with their capacity. They could have just sit back and relax. But they chose to question, develop and tweak what they can. It should be appreciated.
I already looked at your thread about PeerBlock But unfortunately I can't find the M$ range IP that must be add to Peerblock I clicked that blutacks-thing link but didn't get the IPs Can you help me? I already tested it out It works like a charm But unfortunately just for domain name list only While I tried to ping the IP using cmd there still open wide connection So yes I agreed with thorin0815 That the combination is Peerblock and Acrylic But I haven't test PB will it compatible with my Norton Security firewall or not
You can only update it once a week -for free- automatically if you config PeerBlock for auto update, but that should be enough. The list is not updated every few days. If you want to update it more often, you need to delete the listfile before starting PeerBlock and force a redownload or subscribe to Bluetack for cash.
