    Out of curiosity, does setting telemetry to "off" in gpedit.msc disable anything (only available for Ent SKUS)? Or does it still send MS data?

    Never had problems using Google with it (at least for German Google). If you encounter problems, you can make an own whitelist.

    Hi s1ave77:
    Thanks you !!,it works well.

    But some problem about disable windows update.
    This function isn't work well sometime.
    I found the key isn't enough for disable windows update.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
    NoAutoUpdate=1

    But added by gpedit.msc
    find some value was added.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
    DisableWindowsUpdateAccess=1

    Oh!
    Figure it out finally, the meaning of key is
    NoAutoUpdate just mean it will not to update auto.
    DisableWindowsUpdateAccess will stop the update operation.

    @ thorin0815 -
    I added your textfile to peerblock but when I restart windows the list is gone and I have to add it again. This is happening every time I restart windows. How can I prevent this from happening?

    your list works very well btw!!

    EDIT: I found out what the problem was; I forgot to put your file in the lists folder in program files.
    Problem solved :)

    Maybe I will try 10 in a few months again. At the moment it feels too much like an open beta release and there are no new features I really need at all. Maybe when the first DX12 games enter the market. :)

    At the moment I am running mainly Linux Mint and for my games Win 7.

    Hello,

    I'm using winhelp2002 mvps' hosts file and I was thinking to merge your hosts.block.txt list in it but I'm using win7, is it ok? I mean, some urls should be useless for Seven but perhaps other could be used by non telemetry applications? For example, I've read some posts where people did not recommend to block a-0001.a-msedge.net ('CDN endpoint'?) or akamai, but perhaps it depends on the OS and everyone's use too, don't know.

    I wonder, anybody have any idea about registry keys below:

    Found here: forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/25895-Registry-Tweaks-Schwarzbuch-Windows-7-Registry-Tricks

    IMO they are related to Windows Management Instrumentation. Is it safe to set them "0" to disable?

    Mikrotik firewall rules based on the rules found in the Destroy-Windows-10-Spying app here hXXps://github.com/Nummer/Destroy-Windows-10-Spying . It should be easy enough to port to different types of firewalls / routers.

    Could you PM me the info on this as well? I am running a netgear R7000 w/DD-WRT so I've got plenty of ram and processing power to run scripts. Thanks :)

    Can anybody confirm issues with Skype after blocking hosts?
