no - the channel primary depend on the iso (FPP, OEM, EVAL, SEL) - the CAL (Client Access Limit) depend primary on the PID (eg english FPP: 51222 = 10CAL, 50370=noCAL) - SEL (Volume) Keys depend on the PID (eg english SEL: 51222270 = 10CAL, 50370270=noCAL) and of course from the ISO afaik the key type is similar to generic key and full key
Thanks for the details. indeed, i tested 111 code on english iso and it's ok i can open the licensing manager. I also noticed two weird things on the french iso : -after entering the key the installer didn't offer me to choose the licensing mode -the iso is not bootable and doesn't contain FRONTPG folder and autorun.inf @Sajjo : unfortunately, it doesn't work with your serial either I am thinking of one thing: it is marked backoffice for this version (on the previous screenshot I tried an upgrade on enterprise server) Could this therefore be the "trial" CD1 of backoffice 4.0-4.5?
I really think there is a problem with this iso. I downloaded the Spanish version and everything matches well with the English one. So, two hypotheses : -This is the real iso, and Microsoft has totally screwed up and sold this as retail -it's effectively an eval and it exist another one

I thought the server enterprise was ok, but no. It's same on a fresh install. I'm not able to choose the licensing mode during setup and I also have the message that is displayed in the control panel... What's wrong with these french isos? MS screwed up on this one too? Or it's because of SEL channel? I'm taking about this one: Code: a2e3c2e11c60215cadd9fae5b557664e9f46207c NTSE_MSDNFR.iso I tried with the English PID to see if that turned it into retail: Nope. I still can't choose anything. The only effect is the serial request (if i add or remove 270)

@casa36 the topic af this Thread is [REQUEST/INFO] Windows NT4 Editions for collectors and not "how to make hombrew" Iso's it is realy hard enough to get Valid (genuine) original NT4 isos the www is full of fake ISO's (more then 90%) i know the files wich are required to transform the different releases (they all depend on the PID and the language), but i never post such infos coz it makes my live realy harder to identify homebrew isos BTW: i alredy post that the iso you called NFR is a full french FPP iso !! therfore you dont need files to convert FPP to FPP !!! the only thing you need is a valid french Key for Windows NT 4.0 Server Standart Edition (SP1 40bit Encryption) - French Pid = Product ID keys depend direct to the PID -> afair (and test) - each language have different Pid for the same product - because of this you cant make a valid Full setup (eg. for french) with a key from a different language (eg. english) space (but i am not 100% shure - have no valid french key)
This type of setup leads to one damaged (wrong) registry NT4 is very sensitive (which is concerned) there are much more setup files wich you dont change the only thing you need is a valid french Key for Windows NT 4.0 Server Standart Edition (SP1 40bit Encryption) - French As tne OP of this Thread, I ask you to delete your posts please (which affect your homebrew guidance) and keep this thread clean THX a lot for delete
