    I am working on it..

the only other person with enough exp is Yen...The tool is not enough in this instance.. I need to find the strings and change them appropriately...

Everyone else, except Yen or AndyP, will just plug the bios in and start the tool, this needs manual I am afraid..

    Hi,

I thought I'd start somewhere, and I'm not really sure in which forum to start in.......

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G20 PQG20E notebook, which has no SLIC table in it's BIOS, so it will not even offline-activate Vista nevermind 7......

I've downloaded the BIOS from Toshiba (1.40) and extracted the contents of the archive, and there appears to be no single ROM file, or BIN file, therefore it would appear as though this is not a type of BIOS that is used elsewhere, although SLIC dump toolkit reports the BIOS as being made by Toshiba/intel.

What kind of information would you need, in order to point me in the right direction of a modification to SLIC 2.1?

Much appreciated, and once again, sorry about that Sony VAIO BIOS I requested where I made a spelling mistake with the model number.

    Regards

    Andy

Thanks for the reply. The other Intel D915 MB's done by BUSYKID seem to be slightly newer models than mine. D915GAG, D915GAGL, & D915PBL. The latest date of these BIOS's is 2006. Mine is a 2005. I know that means almost nothing, but it also means they probably do not have the newer format of the BIOS.

Where is the INTEL2AMI program, I might see if it will open the .ROM file.
If i get it back into the .BIO wraper, how do I flash it if the flasher will reject it for wrong digital signature?

    Thanks,

Alright, it is an AMI inside, the AMI tool was sucessful at creating an ASUS SLP/SLIC2.1 bios file, but now it appears to be useless?

No other flasher program will put it in? Is that correct? How did the other intel D915 MB's work out? There seem to be more than the 3 I listed earlier.

    Thanks,

Most cant flash..leave the tool open, extract the ami bios, mod the ami, then push it back into the .BIO..then you can close the tool.

Try to flash with the iflash after that..

    911 Medic,

    I cant find IFLASH...........

    UPDATE...............................
Since I could not find the IFLASH, I tried just extracting all of the files in the INTEL Installer program with 7-ZIP and then swapping in my modified BIOS file, then running SETUP.EXE without the InstallShield installer wrapper.

    It worked! Kind of.....

I got a crazy result. I intended to use ASUS files for SLP & SLIC2.1. When I ran the WGA, it said "NOT GENUINE", so I ran your VLK-TO-OEM to check my bios SLP string. It said I had "Genuine C&C 8B2EBECB"! Where the heck did this come from??? I selected the SLP ASUS.TXT file from the AMI MOD Tool folder SLP and the ASUS SLIC2.1.BIN File from the SLIC2.1 folder. Where did this crazy ID string come from? It is not even an option in the AMI Tool SLP selections!

So I used your tool to put the matching files in and now it says "GENUINE", and manual updates work now.

What the HECK Happened. I know it is 3AM here, and I am tired, but where did this SLP string come from!!??
