Update: I can get an external harddrive to boot via usb. I tried AFUWIN using this command...AFUWIN R0200Y3.rom /P /N /E...but got an error saying this program cannot be run in DOS. PHLASH16 error signature not found...probably due to flashing the same version? I really hope someone can take some time to mod my bios. I'm not positive mine were done correctly. It would be great if somebody could mod the flash utility so it won't error out trying to flash the same version that I have. I've been unable to locate an old bios version to flash which would enable me to re-flash the newer version. Thanks a lot!! Bullet
I've tried that several times. When afuwin starts, I get Error: Problem opening file for reading. I'll keep trying. Thanks.
I had my flash files in a folder on my desktop. The command that would not work was Desktop/Flash Folder/AFUWIN R0200Y3.ROM /P /N /E. I took all files out of flash folder and placed them directly in the C:/Users/Me folder. Then just use this command: AFUWIN R0200Y3.ROM /P /N /E Turns out my mod was good after I re-did it with the Sony cert. Bullet Note: I re-installed windows using a Windows 7 Sony disk that was made with DISM Tool found on this site. Props for the great Phoenix tool and all the other awesome utililities found here.
I mod all my bioses myself (usually Asus) and recently have done a Dell XPS H2C-720 with great succes. I thought I could make a bios for a Dell Latitude D830 laptop, but wasn't able too. The thing is that when I flash this laptop with the Dell official A14 or A15 bios version and make a report with RW, that there is no SLIC tab in the ACPI module. Therefore the phoenixtool gives me errors that the RW report has no SLIC entry to update. I downloaded various A14 and A15 bioses including Busykid's, but when I flash, boot and check with SLICdump 3.2 there's NO SLIC found.... A nearly identical D820 does have the SLIC table and activated perfectly! Shoot me, but does anybody have any idea? EDIT: OK, I solved the problem using another thread on this forum. I used the DellBiosReset ISO to enter the same Dell servicetag again (just like a Dell engineer would do if a motherboard is being replaced). Low and behold! SLIC table returned and bios just got modded !!
Hi, I got a error message "PSI analysis fail!!" when I tried to open a 4M byte phoenix bios with PBE 2.2.1.3. Is this normal? I think the bios has something different core.
