    i am also in desperate need of bios sp36890 or anything previous it for a dv2315nr did you find one? it does not have to be modded. thanks

    that's a HP isue isnt it? try to post a request on HP site directly.
    have you try to make a "reset to factory default" in bios setup. (press F10) during boot sequence.
