    DMIScope reports

BIOS of your computer is able to modify DMI structures.
    ===================================================

The following data can be modified:

    BIOS Information (Type 0)
    The entire structure
    Offset 05h: BIOS Version string
Offset 08h: BIOS Release Date string

    System Information (Type 1)
    The entire structure
    Offset 04h: Manufacturer string
    Offset 05h: Product Name string
    Offset 06h: Version string
    Offset 07h: Serial Number string

    Base Board Information (Type 2)
    The entire structure
    Offset 04h: Manufacturer string
    Offset 05h: Product string
    Offset 06h: Version string
    Offset 07h: Serial Number string

System Enclosure or Chassis (Type 3)
    The entire structure
    Offset 04h: Manufacturer string
    Offset 05h: Type byte
    Offset 06h: Version string
    Offset 07h: Serial Number string
Offset 08h: Asset Tag Number string
    Offset 0Dh: OEM-defined dword

But, when I entire a new string and click "Write", string remains the same, it won't change. Any suggestions?

HP string doesn't work, that was actually the first one I tried. The location of the SLP doesn't seem to be where it should be with this BIOS: OEMBIOS failed to locate SLP and WinXP failed to activate.

    Yes, DMIScope was as admin.
