Can EZFlash be used to flash with this modded bios for the P5W DH? Thank you, Maria hi Maria.i think the better way is to flash it with asus update.thats what i did successfully.if you want to try EZFlash do it but its much easier with asus update.
Xbioses, Thank you. My question is more of was the P5W DH bios made for flashing via (within) Vista, as opposed to a boot disk or EZFlash? I had read elsewhere by China4ever something about FC not being written over via flashing from within Windows/Vista. I just want to be sure the bios was mod'd for all flashing methods....
I understood your question, for me, since I don't have any similar board, the only method that I know is testing it. You can I can't, only owners of the same board can answer to that, including you if you dare to try. X
Hey, It's a wonder your p4s800-mx still works, they have major issues with a power regulator under the agp port at the back. it always burns out and you get the hdd led lock on and the board won't power and you can't switch it off. Simple solution is to either put more solder on the joints where it mounts to help disipate the heat or to put a tiny little heatsink on it, or both.. may help it last longer... asus really messed up with those boards but didn't want to recall them. if it wasn't for that they'd be a really solid board.
I have had amazing luck with these, I have a dozen of them running 2.8Ghz P4s and haven't had one die yet. I now get the joy of upgrading them all. I figured to flash the latest bios and use an image to get them running (yes, I actually bought vista ultimate for all of them - ugh) but don't look forward to doing the whole install/activate bs. Oh, and thanks for the tip on the heatsink, will add it to all of them when I have them open for the RAM Upgrade. (Note: I hate working for cheap lawyers that won't spend the $3k/machine for new ones)
