I have a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 Rev 1.0 here and I tried the SLIC BIOS F11 listed for it. The PC boots and runs fine, but if you try to install Vista it goes from the "Boot From CD/DVD....." boot screen and reboots instead of loading the Vista CD installtion. The prior standard F11 I had in it would load the Vista CD fine. (not SLIC though) It actually won't boot any CD/DVD. You get the message....press a key....it flashed the CD/DVD Drive light...then reboots the PC. So I suspect there must be something wrong with that BIOS, although someone reported that it worked fine. ?? Is it possible to get another F11 BIOS done to check and see? PS: See next posts about this motherboard and F11 BIOS....
Have you lookt carefully, i took another look at the bios and saw that the bios default entry is pic.
100% sure dude, I looked in every part of the bios, I expected it'd be in the IRQ settings area but no, i've seen it before on boards. There definately isn't one! It's a really old board.
Hey dude, Nah, still no Slic, only a RSDT which is good, but no slic at all, I flashed using aflash and had the /boot option to ensure boot block was flashed. I then cleared cmos and configured it, verified again i didn't miss the pic/apic thing but its definately not there, still no activation. Thanks again for trying.
