    I HAVE DESTROYED MY NOTEBOOK

    completely my fault though..

as I said earlier either China4Ever's mod didn't work or I've done something wrong. then I've decided to try yours, and since I was already on Vista I didn't know that I need to do "run with administrative rights" or something like that. so normal "MR-109.EXE" didn't work.

I decided it's due to the supplied WinPhlash's lack of Vista support and went googling for WinPlash Vista, downloaded a gateway one and tried to flash with it.

only I ran that one without administrative rights and it too failed but only with checking your supplied ROM file. so I've fed it the .WPH file instead. it seemed, initially, to work as it flashed only at the end it wrote (after flashing most of the bios) "Failed".

only then had it occurred to me to try running the original (acer provided) MR-109.EXE in XP-SP2 compatibility mode. but then I noticed that "administrative privilege" so I've tried it, and it worked and flashed and rebooted (it does so, stupidly, automatically) and died.

    NEVER TO REBOOT AGAIN.

but, hey guys, thanks for the wonderful (I'm guessing) work - my problem was completely my fault.

    any Ideas?

Hello again... sorry about all the questions I'm trying not to ask...

Anyway... I flashed my BIOS and seems OK there. I don't have any new options though (should I).

Next I tried to copy my certificate file to the root C:\... and that failed. Must I use a special program or proceedure?

I'm sure I can figure out how the enter the serial at least, lol. ;)

Once again I'm really sorry about all the questions... I found this place on chance and ((while looking for info on how to share a root drive)) so it's been a crash course on this for me.

    TK.

Hi, about my Acer TravelMate 2410

OK, everything is back to normal!

    in case any body's interested:

    1. unplugged power and battery and waited a few minuets.
    2. plugged power back and simultaneously pressed power and Fn-b
    3. phoenix logo showed up and that was it, normal boot after that.

now I've retried it again and I'm sorry, still doesn't work.

now I've tried XBIOSES's BIOS, in everest under Motherboard -> ACPI I still don't get SLIC entry. northing's there.
    only the normal:
    APIC
    BOOT
    DSDT
    FACP
    FACS
    MCFG
    RSD PTR
    RSDT
    SSDT
    SSDT

    no go.
