i found this guide on this forum and it worked for me

Install Windows Vista. Do not enter any product key.
Download ASUS OEM certificate ASUS.xrm-ms and put it on C:\ root directory.

Install the digital certificate by using following command in command
    prompt:
    slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\ASUS.xrm-ms

Input and change the Windows Vista product key to the Asus OEM product
key by using following command in command prompt:
    slmgr.vbs -ipk <Asus OEM product key>

First you have to flash the bios.
Then take the steps a few post back by Mikee, and change Asus to HP.

Have you tried to put an unmodded bios on a floppy to see if it would load?

Sorry to hear about you troubles:(, like zzdiesel said, try putting an un-modified bios on a floppy.

Because the system is constantly seeking the floppy drive, it maybe auto-recover from a bad flash.

    I'm sorry to hear that.:(

Copy a biosfile to floppy, rename it as " AMIBOOT.ROM".
Insert the floppy in your system's floppy drive.
Power on the system while holding CTRL+Home keys. Release the keys when you hear a beep and/or see the floppy light coming on.
Just wait until you hear 4 beeps. When 4 beeps are heard the reprogramming of the System Block BIOS went succesful, so then you may restart your system.
