Its not a matter of 7gb, its a matter of principe. I want to be able to control what my OS does as much as possible, automatic crap and forcing something upon me is well... crap...
And MSFT is just ensuring servicing won't be a problem, so many people don't have bad upgrade/servicing experiences.
If it's a fresh untouched install, re-install with the reg key implemented in setupcomplete.cmd, or ,mount the wim, load the registry hive, insert the reg key needed and unload the hive, unmount the wim and replace the original one with the modified one.
No. You did not get me. The install is done and that PC has been set up as per my Client's needs. I don't want to waste 2 hrs trying to set it up again. Can anything be done now?
Not seen someone posting info about disabling it on a running system, but an inplace upgrade with the modified iso could work.
i have 1903 18362.53 and on settings i not see any mention about reserved space... and on registry i have this
No wonder people love XP and 7, you can run them on a calculator and they will work forever and ever. But with 10, you need more RAM, more space, better CPU. Not to mention, that 10 drops support for more devices with every upgrade. MS obviously considers it a serious problem on the number of PCs, otherwise they would not do this. But this will just create more problems and hate towards 10, like a forced vaccination of kids under a gunpoint. A good idea, badly implemented.
This 7 GB space is like 7% disk space on 128 GB SSDs. I expect some backlash. MS does take all decisions from their arse.
Indeed, just holding 7GB hostage for nothing is quite a stupid move. There are users and users. Some are too dumb for their own good. Some like to keep things efficient, and having 7GB of SSD space not used and not bringing any benefit is incredibly dumb. Slap an on/off toggle with a good warning and be done.
