So, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-i9100) as I wanted a different phone. It was updated to official 4.1.2 ICS and then I rooted it... Rooting went fine and it has been okay ever since.

Because it was rooted, I removed the annoying bloatware, now after a factory reset it goes into a boot loop after 'Installing apps...' because it cannot discover the deleted bloatware.

I'm just a little skeptical of these third party flashing apps, like ODIN... Are they safe? As obviously Kies won't do anything and I do need to flash the original FW back to the phone. But I don't want to brick it.

Are there any Android people that can give some input?

    Regards, The Dev.

    hi,

    ODIN is a samsung tool.

With odin you can put the stock rom with stock kernel in your phone.

    Okay,

Stock ROM flashed with ODIN, in the recovery menu Factory reset + Wipe cache worked, phone is now fully functional.
