question as per topic , are they? E.g if i installed a retail copy , can i use a oem key to activate the windows? Likewise , if i installed a oem copy , can i use retail key to activate? thanks
it depends on the nature of your crack, but from what i understand, its just the .cfg files that differ. Use a retail iso, mod your slic bios, use the right cert and key and you are laughing.
In terms of files, there are very minor differences but they both work the same way. If you want to go BIOS mod, then either works.
There's only ONE file different: ei.cfg And it's only used to specify the Express Install of a particular version of Windows 7 (i.e. Home Premium, Ultimate, etc.). It can be deleted to allow setup to prompt for the desired version. Therefore, there is NO difference between Retail and OEM.
