Anyone can tell me if Office 2016 Pro Plus version 16.0.4266.1003 is RTM? Reasons for asking is that when I initially installed this, and then opening Word, ask for a key. I overcome this now but just for interest, I am confused and not sure even if RTM is out ?
It is RTM in fact - Google the build number and you'll see that on certain sites, it will say that it is RTM.
Thanks !, not sure why it ask for keys. Office 2013 RTM did not do that. Anyway, I have fixed that drama now. Cheers.
No problem - it did ask for me to activate it and ask me if I wanted to insert a product key as well, but if you were planning to activate it via O2016RTool, then don't worry about that.
Retail Office has always asked for key, even 2013 if it's original retail version. You must have some pre-activated homebrew image if it doesn't ask for key.
I have downloaded and installed Office 2016 RTM retail... the problems 1) If I use the main setup, this install always the 32bit version, and I have to use the right setup inside the "office" folder (setup64.exe for my os not setup32.exe)... It's not clear why doesn't choose right version automatically, or what does exactly. 2) when I try to install the downloaded software without an active internet connection get the message "Installation cannot continue because we weren't able to download a required file. Please make sure you're connected to the Internet" . What the hell is this required file? Why isn't included in the downloaded image?. Have you experienced same issues? If someone know how to download an iso that can be installed also without internet connection active is welcome
I have already installed office 2016 on my pc and I want to burn an iso that could be used offline. Are you sure that the images generated with that tools are installable offline? Thanks
I have created an ISO (Official MSDN ISO) where I added the "Office 2016 Install 3.6 by ratiburus". But it didn´t work even when you mount the image or start from an USB or DVD. All the time the program starts and then I got the message: "Installation cannot continue because we weren't able to download a required file. Please make sure you're connected to the Internet". So, I extracted the ISO (created including the tool) to a folder I named "Office_2016PP" and the installation worked fine. You can try copying the extracted file to an USB or burn to a DVD and make a test. When you do it with the ISO it doesn´t work. The other tool I tested but was not able to install.
Always you make changes to install options, it has to save new Configure.xml so it won't work from ISO or DVD.
I have tried to install office 2016 in a Virtual Machine with a clean copy of windows 10 and both from a dvd and a folder with write permissions... without internet connection won't install. If you install office 2016 a first time with internet and then try again probably some files downloaded at first attempt remain on pc.
emm.. its like other have a problem. I download it and installing without internet connection but no problem, but I dont instal Office 2016 by ratiborus..mount iso then run setup.exe. yap the problem cant customize it like I just need some not all.
is it possible that you can remove the 32 bit files from the ISO and still use it to install on 64 bit computer or does setup close due to 32 bit stuff missing?
Update: I have renamed the main folder where the files have been downloaded in "office" and works... seems that setup executable looks to its superfolder in some badly hardcoded way
