Hi all, I was asked by a relative to install office (on win 8.1 x64) and used pp_office_professional_plus_2016_x86_x64_dvd_6968771.iso. I only need Word, Excel, PP and Outlook, so I'd rather avoid everything else, but it just went and installed the whole package no questions asked. Is there any way to choose what to install and what not to, like it used to, or is the only option now to remove the unwanted apps after install?

Hello All, I've downloaded Office Professional Plus 2016 (x86 and x64) - Retail MSDN. I just want to install Excel and Word only. I tried to create a file called configuration.xml. Here's my configuration.xml Code: <Configuration> <Product ID="ProPlusRetail"> <Language ID="en-us" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneDrive" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Outlook" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Lync" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> <ExcludeApp ID="InfoPath" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Access" /> <ExcludeApp ID="PowerPoint" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" /> </Product> <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="0" /> <Updates Channel="Current" Enabled="TRUE" /> </Configuration> My question: Is my configuration.xml correct ? if yes, where do I put my configuration.xml in ? I've put that .xml in Data folder but It still installs the whole package. Thanks for your concern and help.
your config file is not compleate at least <Add OfficeClientEdition="<64> <32>"> ... </Add> missing Code: <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="64"> ... </Add> <Updates Enabled="TRUE" /> <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> </Configuration> call it by this way Office Deployment Tool: SETUP /configure [path to Excel_and_Word_configuration_file_x64.xml] SETUP /configure [path to Excel_and_Word_configuration_file_x32.xml] DVD x32: SETUP32 /configure [path to Excel_and_Word_configuration_file_x32.xml] DVD x64: SETUP64 /configure [path to Excel_and_Word_configuration_file_x64.xml] EDIT: path can be - absolute - or relative to setup.exe
Does Microsoft release new office 2016 iso with all office 2016 updates? If yes, where can i download office 2016 professional x32 bit iso?
I have SW_DVD5_Office_Professional_Plus_2016_W32_English_MLF_X20-41353.ISO any svf to the latest version
Apparently my MS Office Professional Plus 2016 OneNote does not support embedding online (YouTube) video. Theres no such option in the Insert menu, and it doesn't work when pasting the link. It works in Windows 10's OneNote though. It seems Microsoft does not plan to include that particular feature in any MS Office OneNote version other than Office 365. It's a disgrace. I thought that with MSO Professional Plus 2016 I would at least get such a basic feature. Just to be clear, I've installed from SW_DVD5_Office_Professional_Plus_2016_W32_English_MLF_X20-41353.iso
