    I got it to work with just the filename reg setting and adding my template here "C:\Windows\ShellNew\template.reg", it doesn't seem to take the registry data field anymore, but it works fine with a real template file in the XP folder location. I'm on W2012Server in case it matters, I assume it works for 8 as well.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.reg\ShellNew]
    "FileName"="template.reg"

    What is the skinny on 'pre-hashed' shortcuts. Can we copy and paste them into another machines winx folder after the hash has been added to the .lnk file.

    Copy and paste does seem to work. I may be wrong as I did try it from one VM to another one maybe they are just similar HWare. If I get a chance I will try it across Physical Machines. I was trying to find documented registry settings for Win X menu to customise it (Cascading etc.), no luck so far. The folder structure allows the separator, shortcuts need to be #'d and the rest is a big secret.

    EDIT: The windows explorer process needs to be restarted for changes to take effect. Weird why MS thought they had to protect this menu, I swear somebody @ MS is OCD over using the new start menu, I just want the best of both.

    OK you have me confused, I see the #'d shortcuts as 45bytes > the normal shortcuts. Do you have a copy stored on different storage medium, drive geometry will allocate to the default sector size(size on disk).

    Side issue: Do you not accept PM's or have you just not cleaned out your Inbox?
    cheers

    Right click desktop

    Select new shortcut

    Type shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00 -hybrid then click next,and finish

    After that right click the icon,go to properties and change icon to whatever u like .I put the shortcut where the start button was in w-7

    Wrong one, it performs a standard shutdown, not the hybrid one.....

    just use:
    shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00 -hybrid

    Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

    This is my Kontex.Menü......

    Windows 8 Enterprise x64 bit

    Here are Future......

    265kb

    h tt ps://rapidshare.com/files/2252344841/Kontex.rar

    qqqqqq.jpg

    Pictures B.jpg

    **********************************************************

    One can move the elements in the Kontexmenü also upwards or below.

    The order always under the Icon put order.

    z.b

    -------------------------------------------------------
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\background\shell\cmd]
    @="cmd"
    "icon"="H:\\Dokumente\\Icons\\Icon_211.ico"
    "Position"="Top"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\background\shell\cmd\command]
    @="C:\\Windows\\System32\\cmd.exe"

    -------------------------------------------------------

    She orders are:

    On top: "Position"="Top"

    Below: "Position"="Bottom"

    Then the result can look so...

    Take every reg key of every setting you imported, and using a minus sign as such, create a new reg file. Then merge that new reg file to 'delete' the keys. Here is a little bit to get you started, I don't know whose settings you used or how many different reg files you applied, good luck.
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Restart Computer]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Shutdown Computer]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\System panel]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Sounds panel]
