Thanks again, so i can go on with my fresh installed Windows 7 Professional. The MUI thing was a new info for me, thought that is the same as LP, but you live and learn So i will get the MUI with Windows Update in October and all will be fine!
@heman1980 MUI is the LP. MUI = Multilingual User Interface. LP = Languagepack. And if the LP was slipstreamed into your ISO, it should have german help. You should not look to the "online Help". This of course may still be in english, but the "offline help" is german.
But you can always slipstream the MUI in the DVD so you'll be able to translate every version (from starter to ultimate). Little OT: If you remove the ei.cfg from the dvd you can choose which version of 7 you want to install. In this case if you want to translate every version of 7 you need to repeat the slipstream procedure for every version (5 times for x86 and 4 times for x64). Well, this official translated ISO by MS require the same? I think... if I download the Spanish-Ultimate and I remove the ei.cfg then all the version are translated or only the Ultimate (keeping all other versions to english)? Thanks
Why do you think MUIs are 1GB? Do you think when you use a Ultimate Edition, you will download a 600MB MUI via Window Update to localize your Windows? EDIT: As i wrote, MUI = Multilingual User Interface. So you need a Language Pack to get an Multilingual User Interface.
@Lenmaer I was on that Microsoft site and looked for german LIP. There is no German LIP available, maybe because there is a full LP (MUI). Seems that LIP are just for special Languages available. I downloaded one, and it is just 2,5MB ^^ So i am sure, the LP with 100MB are the full Language packs. When you try to install them, Windows will say that it needs about 500MB or something like that. EDIT: The Language Packs we know can only be used on Ultimate and Enterprise Edition. EDIT2: Just another Proof: On the LIP i downloaded, in the update.mum stands : "Microsoft-Windows-LIP-LanguagePack-Package" But on our Languagepacks are called: "Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package" Ok, this was a Vista LIP, and dont know how a Vista LP looked like lol
