We have 2 exactlly the same builds of gaming PCs here. We realized that within 1 week, the screen turned black for a second, showing "no signal". It doesnt happen everyday, it dont has to be inside of a game. It can also happen while just surfing. "C:\>perfom /rel" does show a hardware error on both PCs Parameter 1 is always different, the rest is the same on both devices. How does one analyze and interpret these numbers and paramters ? What could be the cause for this hardware error ? Googling does reveal it could be connected a "simple hickup" of the graphics card adapter. That it could be the graphics drivers. But ya that "no signal" does indeed mean it is the graphics card adapter.
VBIOS and drivers up to date? There were reports of glitchy cards at launch and they did make some updates. Decent PSU?
Windows drivers are up to date PSU is a 650w Straight Power 11 Board: MSI B550-A PRO (MS-7C56) CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3700X RAM : Graphics card is a MSI RTX3070 (GA104-300) 8GB (Ventus 3X) with latest nvidia driver running via a good Display Port cable, attached to a BenQ 4k (BenQ EW3270U) VBIOS according to hwinfo : 94.04.25.80.56 VBIOS acording to this site : 94.04.25.40.41 Hmmm...mine looks up to date then ? Installing this one now : (but its from may 2020) and found the following : Hum...for now I installed the updated AMD Chipset Driver only. (2.9.28.509)
I downloaded AMD chipset drivers and installed these. Live Update says I use 2.07.21.306... Today the screen went black for some seconds again and Windows claims it is a Hardware error. I also updated the BIOS today : From VA.20 to VA.40 (release date 10/30/2020) "Updated AMD AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.1.0.0 Patch C" Which did not help...just happened again, HW error
After uninstalling "MSI Afterburner" and setting nvidia 3D control panel to "High Performance" (as adviced on nvidia forums), the HW Error didnt show up again.
