Every time my PC turns on, I see the following: to skip check disk, hit any key in the next 8 secs then scan disk D:

How do I stop this issue from happening.

I did. tried sdkdsk, sdkdsk D: and cdkdsk D;/f and various other combination of this command. How about you refrain from responding to my threads.

It could be something with your hardware that need to be fix or change.

I had the same problem and I found out that one of the memory card not inserted correctly. I made memory check before.

Windows is picking up a "dirty bit" on reboot to say basically your D drive has an issue.Scanning the drive should clear it, if not then Id suggest you may have a failing drive.

scandisk was used on the days of old ms-dos 6.x and win95/98/me. from WinNT & onward, chkdsk is used instead of scandisk
