Great script, but doesn't seem to remove some apps and edge. *Under boost SSD system files compression should be separate from the "all services in this section" reason being that if you have a small ssd or using tablet you'd probably not want to uncompress the files as space maybe an issue. Also adding in disabling of Action Center and removal of Windows Defender would be great. Ps: 4>4>10 (system file compression enable) doesn't seem to work, after the file system has been decompressed, just exits to desktop edit: seems edge is iffy, removal sometimes works sometimes doesn't Removal of twitter/xbox live/candycrush however didn't work. Not sure if this is default but i had word/powerpoint/excel mobile (basically read only mode) on my tablet as apps.
How do I check that all of telemtry was removed? It doesn't feel right that its just a message that says "Success" or something like that. Maybe a way to verify after if the programs are still there or they are removed or if the settings had been changed. Thanks.
Thank you for this usefull script. I tried option 8 on my Asus Taichi21 w/w10 (Home edition with last updates). I wanted to avoid MS update to install Intel Graphic 4000 new driver which disable all double screen functions. Asus Taichi21 has one Lid with one display Inside and a touchable one outside for Tablet mode. But Option 8 (Disable Driver update) does not avoid update of the Intel graphic. Does this option work for others?
The thing is, this app (3.4 version) must be run on first boot (without connecting to internet) Even if you let windows connect to internet for 5-10 seconds, bam! all the removed apps will still get installed as soon as you connect to net again. Best practice is to unplug the LAN cable while installing Windows fresh copy and don't enter WiFi passwords till you are done using this tool. Then only the changes stick around and you save data bandwidth. Second option is to install Windows, connect to internet and wait for a day to let it complete installing all the junk and then use this tool to uninstall. Do this if you do not have data caps. Each fresh install takes up 1GB download data to update drivers, apps, add useless language packs and features. This is a great app, but I think it needs update for uninstalling moar incoming bloat in Redstone/Anniversary update. I love it as it is the only app which uninstalls system app completely without breaking the Windows installation.
I'm having an issue figuring out how to disable the Settings/Privacy telemetry. The description for one of the them says "Turn off the advertising ID" and the options are "Enable" or "Disable". Which option disables telemetry for this specific option. The wording has me very confused. Based on the wording, "Enable" would turn off the advertising ID...but the word disable also suggests that it would disable the telemetry.
Man, I wish I saw this a week ago, I have been googling how to disable stuff on WIn 10 for using for a HTPC..... I'll try this tonight to see if I missed anything !
on the face of this tweak, it looked promising, but I did not see much benefit to the tweaks technically limited, and on some tweaks you cannot revert to original settings. So I chose the revert all changes option, this messed up Windows 10, also changed group policy setting, messed up windows update settings, made changes to the system that did not exist before installing then using revert all option. I would not recommend the use of this tweak, now I have to reinstall Windows 10 to get my full functionality back. So to summarize "needs a lot more work, at best a beta" not recommended in current form
Open CMD as administrator and put this command: Code: powershell "Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage" Enjoy
Love love love this utility. One question that I didnt find in this thread though. Which one of these settings disables the full desktop version of skype? I've narrowed it down to one of the telemetry settings. It allows you sign but screws with group chat capabilities.
I have use it to tweak LTSB x64 N and now i do not have any option available in Control Panel -> Program and Features -> Turn Windows Fearures ON/OFF any option left . Also the .NET Framework it's reported to be missing. Please help !
Will this ever be updated again? Not all of the options work with the present build. Are there any alternatives to this that are being supported?
Hello guys With Anniversary Update coming in a few days i will take some time to update this tool just tell me what's broken or any things that you want to add and i will see what i can do concerning the problems posted in Replies above i tried those options and everything is working from my end so i need confirmations from at least two people that a feature isn't working to remove it ------------------------ LTSB option I think i will remove it not because it's not working (Working for me) But just because it messes a lot with Windows settings and files and i don't want it to mess with people computers because that's frustrating even for me ------------------------ I won't touche anything in the code until Anniversary Update is out and everyone is using it i would love some feedback from people using the latest insider build.
In my quest to "Tame Windows 10", I've looked all over for different tweak tools. So far this is one of the better ones because of its simple interface and ability to revert changes. The only changes I have in mind as of now is the telemetry outbound firewall rule disallowing traffic to 168.61.0.0/16. This hinders your ability to use some of the file sharing attributes with others, on the full desktop version of Skype Good call on waiting on until the Redstone 1 Anniversary Update - could not agree more Thanks for the great utility!
Add toggle option for show/hide email info on login screen. For security purposes. Add toggle option for show/hide display user account picture on login screen and I mean all including default For personal preference. Sometimes the user account picture on login screen just does not blend in well with the background. Sometimes I just want a clean login screen. Thanks for this script and looking forward to update.
