sectors alignment on SSD's do we need it ?

    as I plan to spend my dough on an OCZ vertex 3, I intend to clone my existing C:\ partition on it and have my system boot on it. I'm confused about the point of having to "align" the SSD sectors prior to cloning... is this true ? how can I do this ?
    It seems to me that a clean W7 install solves this, is this right ?
